Acerca del evento
Upcoming May 2023 Agathe Ensemble will record its first studio album, entitled “Intimate Sketches”. Agathe Ensemble brings together the music of 3 great East European composers: Janáček, Bartók and Shostakovich. All of the tracks, originally conceived as piano miniatures, will be arranged and recorded by strings for the first time.
Some of this music is sketchy and intimate, coming straight from a diary book. Unfinished, or meant to be the material of a masterpiece that never got written. Music that tells live experiences and deep emotions. Others are lighter, borrowed from local folk music traditions. Also, there is a place for short but carefully composed music pieces to impress the crowds.
- Leos Janáček: Intimate Sketches and Three Moravian Folk Dances
- Bela Bartók: Three Hungarian Folksongs from Csik and Allegro Barbaro
- Dimitri Shostakovich: Dances of the Dolls and 24 Preludes op. 34 (selection)
This will be a Pre-Release concert, prior to the studio recordings. The official Album Release will be planned for autumn 2023. The music will be released next to a booklet illustrated and designed by the Hungarian artist Roland Tóth.
